Welcome to Forum, the online discussion area for the Manila GFMD 2008 Civil Society Meeting. Starting today, topics in this section will remain open for posting and online discussion in preparation for the Civil Society Meeting in October 27-28 in Manila.

Listed below are the initial topics for discussion. Each discussion topic will be run by a Coordinator or Moderator who has been invited for each topic. A group of international experts has also been invited to prepare papers which will be posted per topic. Additional topics may be posted in the future.

We encourage readers, researchers, and advocates of migration and development to participate actively in the online discussion. However, ir order to do so, you will need to register first in order to obtain a username and password. This will just be a one-time activity to register though you will be needing your username and password to enter the discussion.

Forum Policy:

GMFD2008.org provides an online discussion forum for registered members of the website for the purpose of generating an open exchange of ideas related to migration and development.

There are six pre-defined topics for discussion.

For each topic, a moderator is assigned to facilitate the discussion.

Viewing the posted message is available to the general public, but posting a message and replying to a message is limited to registered members of the website.

Signing up as a registered member of the website to participate in the online public discussion does not automatically entitle the person a slot on the GFMD event in Manila which is by invitation only.

The online discussion forum can accommodate only the English language.

GFMD and AFI reserve the right to delete messages that they seem inappropriate, move messages to a different topic as they deem fit, or block/remove registered users that violate the policies of this website.

The online discussion forum shall not be used for posting inappropriate/offensive messages or for illegal purposes.

Forum Netiquette:

1.	Be nice and do not say things that you do not want others to say to you.
2.	Respect other people�s point of view.
3.	Try not to type in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, which is like shouting.
4.	Post your message in the right forum topic or thread.
5.	Post only materials that you author.
6.	Do not bring topics to the public things that are better left in private.
7.	If you have complaints against somebody, do not bring it here. Instead, email the administrator of this website.
8.	Do not spam or forward, inspirational messages, advisories, chain letters, warnings, and other unsolicited messages.
9.	Never post copyrighted material or anything that infringe on intellectual property rights.
